Floral Chuppah & Cake Meadow at Semiahmoo Resort Wedding in Blaine, WA
This beautiful, coastal wedding at Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, WA was full of local July blooms in a subtle palette and so many meaningful moments including a Chuppah make built by the groom for us to add florals, an elegant cake meadow, and handmade pottery.

The backdrop of this classy venue is unmatched and they have gorgeous wooden chairs that fit perfectly. They have a full staff for venue management including setting up chairs and tables and full-catering and clean up.

The groom built this Chuppah and I worked closely with the couple to plan the sizing and placement of the florals so that they accentuated his stunning handiwork without fully obscuring it.

There are many gorgeous and scenic backdrops for photos a Semiahmoo Resort. Despite it being a public resort, the event space is private and secluded.

The light silk chiffon ribbon on the bouquets and boutonnières was carefully chosen to match the bridesmaids dresses.

When creating the bouquet for the bride, I consider many elements including the preference of the bride, the style and shape of her dress, and the overall shape, colors, and vibes of the rest of the event design.

These summery, warm pastels popped on the contrasting cool, sky blue chiffon dresses.

When designing florals for ceremonies, I consider many things, including: cultural practices, sentimental flowers or objects included, budget, setting, logistics of set up and tear down, and if the flowers need to be moved to the reception. In this case the placement of the florals frames the couple with a large impact without obscuring the Chuppah, canopy, or the stunning ocean backdrop. The florals coming up from the ground is a placement that fits well with the English garden florals that the couple loved.

When designing ceremony florals, I consider angles that they will be experienced and photographed from. Since the couple stands under the canopy, behind the florals, I made sure to wrap the design inward, instead of just on the front side.

Grounded aisle entry florals are a sweet way to welcome guests to the ceremony space and are easy to move and reuse in the reception space.

The large tent area at Semiahmoo Resort can accommodate large weddings. They take care of catering, table settings, linens, and bar service so if you book your wedding here, there is very little you have to do.

These lush centerpieces in shallow handmade pottery bowls (Croak & Bloom) were perfect for this coastal setting and the English-garden-inspired blooms within.

The guest tables included a mix of round and rentable tables. We usually recommend a collection of bud vases of rentable tables so that all the guests are close to some flowers to enjoy.

I loved a floral cake meadow moment and this one did not disappoint. The added touch of a figure of the couple pup was a precious addition.

This couple were regular customers of mine for every day florals before their wedding and it was such a pleasure to create their florals for their special day.
