Coastal Garden Wedding at Roche Harbor Resort

I had the pleasure of traveling to San Juan Island for a very sentimental wedding at Roche Harbor Resort for Labor Day Weekend. The bride's parents got also been married there, so it was a dream come true for the her.

Amelia and Charlie were so fun to work with. Amelia loves flowers and was very involved in the floral design process. Her vision was an English garden wedding with pastels.

My favorite moment was walking into the Bridal Suite to deliver the flowers and being greeting with squeals of delight. I don't always interact with the couple on the wedding day, so it was so nice to be there for the bride's and her attendants' reactions.

The Bride's reaction was priceless.
This welcome sign sat next to the path that led down to the little garden where the ceremony was held.

The installation is made of individual arrangements that were moved from the ceremony to the reception space (along the front of the head table).

Roche Harbor Resort is such a beautiful and historic venue, and while not totally private, all the Resort guests that were not there for the wedding were so respectful of the ceremony space and kind in their interactions. So many people stopped to admire the flowers as I was installing them.

The different types of botanicals included in this design were numerous, but I will list some of them here: many varieties of garden roses and dahlias, cosmos, zinnias, yarrow, queen anne's lace, didiscus, larkspur, nigella, stock, foxglove, delphinium, lisianthus, pincushion flowers, sweet peas, snapdragons, apple of Peru, lavatera, sweet autumn clematis, amaranth, love-in-a-puff vine, and cress.

This was one of those weddings that checked all the boxes. Beautiful design, wonderful couple, gorgeous setting, very kind and supportive family/bridal party, and talented vendors.

The reception space was so elegant and cozy. The bride designed and chose all the details, and it turned out beautiful.

I added greenery pendants around the room with the help of my new friend, Elspeth, from Daisy Haus Design.

From the bride: "I cannot believe how beautiful the flowers were. I cared so so much about planning the floral design because the flowers were the most important design element to me. Laura went above and beyond in the planning process and execution of my english cottage garden DREAM!!! One of my core memories from the wedding is having our bouquets delivered because I was so overwhelmed with happiness!! Everything was done perfectly and completely exceeded my wildest hopes and dreams, I feel so lucky to have had such an incredible experience working with Laura!" -Amelia
