Antique Autumn Wedding at Semiahmoo Resort

Who said autumn florals have to be the traditional autumn colors? The assignment for this early autumn wedding was pastel, pearly, and antique-feeling petite florals, with interesting texture, movement, and botanical ingredients.

Sweet bride at Semiahmoo Resort

This sweet bride had a vision for beautiful, interesting, but not over-powering florals and I think this bouquet was a perfect match for her.

Bride and Groom at Semiahmoo ResortThe setting was the beautiful Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, WA. This oceanside resort looks out onto a stunning Pacific Northwest harbor with so many beautiful views in every direction: mountains, beaches, waves, birds, and boats, not to mention the resort itself. It is one of those venues that doesn't need much decorating because it is already so gorgeous.

Bride and bridesmaids at Semiahmoo ResortThe texture, movement, and color possibilities are endless in early autumn. I loved creating this design from 100% local blooms from Floralie Farm and Wildrye as well as from my garden.

Antique and pastel color palette for florals
The 'Koko Loko' and 'Silver Cloud" garden roses were the stars of this design along with some elegant lisianthus, and fluffy dahlias. The pink strawflower, blue lace flower, yarrow, celosia, feather tail grass, frosted explosion grass, dara, and sweet autumn clematis worked together to add texture and movement while the eucalyptus and dusty miller supported the design. Finally, the pearly lunaria pods added a perfect touch of luminosity.

Arbor Florals
It was a warm and sunny September day, but this zero-waste and foam-free arbor held up beautifully. I designed it on a flexible chicken wire cage as a removable pieces attached with a few wires so that it could be moved to to adorn the head table during the reception.

 Floral arrangements at Aisle
The flower arrangements that were at the beginning of the ceremony aisle were also moved to be enjoyed again at the reception in front of the sweetheart table.

Sweet whimsical centerpieces

Elegant, petite, and sweet centerpieces in glass pedestals graced these reception tables.

Custom Hair CombThis bride had a vision for a custom floral hair comb that tied in with the rest of the florals.

Mikaela Bradley (Hatch Photography) captured these so florals and this romantic wedding so beautifully.
