A case for Spring Weddings in Northwest, Washington (5 Reasons your should get married in the Spring)
I do a surprisingly small amount of florals for spring weddings compared to the summer and fall and I am here to change that. Here are my top 5 reasons that spring weddings are so lovely and wonderful and you should definitely plan one.
1. The Flowers: Spring is bursting with romantic, lush, and fragrant flowers with lots of curves and layers of petals and architectural blooming branches. I recommend avoiding Mother's Day weekend, but otherwise, there are lots of local flowers in the spring. Some flowers you can get in the spring are: tulips, ranunculus, garden roses peonies, anemones, fritillaria, delphinium, Iceland poppies, hyacinth, grape hyacinth, bluebells, lecojum, sweet rocket, irises, daffodils, clematis, silene, verbascum, geum, pieris japonica, columbine, allium, foxglove, dogwood, larkspur, sweet peas, feverfew, ammi, flowering branches, foxglove, snapdragons, stock, yarrow, campanula, baptista, bleeding hearts, hellebores, spirea, viburnum, mock orange, forsythia, quince, etc.

2. Venue and vendor availability: There are significantly less weddings happening in the spring than the summer and fall so you would likely have your pick of venues and vendors so you can secure your first choices. If you get engaged less than a year before your wedding date, you might have a lot better luck finding all the vendors you want if you plan a spring wedding.

3. Temperate Weather and overcast skies: I know rain is a risk, but if you select a venue with an option for a sheltered ceremony area, you don't have to stress. Frankly, rain is possible in the summer and fall as well and rainy day weddings have been some of the most magical that I have been a part of. Overcast skies make for some of the most beautiful lighting (in my opinion) for photos. You don't have to worry about getting overheated (which is much worse than rain). It was 95+ degrees on my August wedding day and I definitely would have preferred a bit of sprinkling. Bonus is there is almost no chance of wildfire smoke in the spring (I know it is sad that we have to even think about that).

4. The Backdrop: It is soooo green, and blooming shrubs and beautiful views are everywhere. There is no dead grass and gardens and landscapes are lush and lovely.

5. Your Honeymoon and anniversary will be during a season where travel is usually better (especially to tropical climates or the Southern Hemisphere). Besides, who wants to leave this beautiful corner of the world during the summer and early fall? Not me.
